In Dreams

Sometimes I wake up (am woken up by a cat) early in the morning. Its too early to get up so I try to fall back asleep. I've been using this deep breathing method that really seems to do the trick.

But rather than falling back in to a normal sleep pattern, I feel like I'm in this half dream/half reality world. Sounds from the waking world, like a cat's meow or a car driving on the street weave their way in to my dreams. Dream conversations feel so real that I am convinced they actually happened.

In my dreams Bubs and I had a conversation about new park I discovered with a wading pool. He told me he took Bunny and ran into our neighbors. Bunny and Elvis ran splashing through the pool while Bubs and Michael had a conversation about pre-school. It was so real it had to have happened. Right? But when I asked Bubs about when he would have gone since we just went for the first time yesterday, he looked at me like I was nuts.

In this dream/reality world, I also find that real events or conversations are re-imagined. An Obama campaign meeting now takes place with a dinosaur, my third grade teacher and Brett Farve. It didn't happen, but I wish it had. It would have been more interesting that way.

Normally I don't remember my dreams which is why these dreams have such an impact on me. What about you? Have you had dreams that felt so real you were convinced they actually happened.

Good morning! Wow you are up so early! I'd put that cat outside! I have these kinds of dreams all of the time. They really screw with my head. Then I have dreams about other people that seem so real I can't figure out whether they were dreams or really happened. Crazy!

Last night I had my recurring, late for high school and can't find my uniform skirt dream. I have that ALL the time and I'm always convinced that it's real (even when I'm trying to figure out how to get my kids to daycare before school starts).

I've had a few that involved me being angry at Hubby for saying or doing something mean/stupid.

I wake up pissed, and I usually refuse to talk to him all morning. He finally asks me what the HELL is wrong with me... and then I realize that I'm an idiot :-)

Brings whole new meaning to "living the dream", lol

Ollie the fat cat wakes me up altogether too often for me to even complain about, since that would then be all I talk about....but yes, those interrupted dreams are often so vivid I am convinced they happened. Especially the one I had last night about the color coded menus. Don't ask, I can't explain.

I woke myself up yesterday morning by saying "I don't know where Ben and Jerry's ends and I begin."

Don't know where that came from...

I have half-waking dreams that seem SO REAL all the time ... the weird thing is if they transport me back in time, and I wake up convinced I am still in high school or whatever!

I absolutely have very real dreams, so real I feel sad to wake up, especially when I am hanging out with the likes of my favorite musician.

The dreams I hate are the ones I can't dial the phone or write something down. they annoy me!
