Carded

I have a dilemma. Since I am going to Lobby Con at BlogHer this year, I need to have some spiffy business cards to promote my blogs.

It makes perfect sense, cards help people remember who you are. But I have three business that I would like to promote - this blog, Juniper and Coffee and my Etsy store. And three business cards seems like an awful lot to hand out.

And there is also the added problem that every time I've ordered business cards in my professional life, I've quit that job within six month. I don't want to quit blogging or making jewlery so should I even risk ordering cards?

So that is my little dilemma. I would appreciate hearing what you are doing and what you think I should do.

Hi! Love the idea of a blog card. What if you were to make one card that lists both blogs and the etsy store on it? Then, people could choose which blog or store to go to, depending on what they are looking for. I don't think that getting cards done will "curse" you in any way. You are a great writer and jewelry maker, so I'm sure that this will just make more people join in the fun!

I'll email you too - I ordered business cards that printed on the front and back - and you can 250 printed FOR FREE from vistaprints! Seriously! And I got them less than a week after I placed the order. I'd put But Why Mommy on the front, and then split the back between Juniper and Coffee and your etsy store. Win win, no? I have my name, email address and url to my main site on the front of mine. You could do the same, then add your URLs to your etsy and juniper sites on the back! And did I mention they're FREE?

Another option is moo.com. I love those little cards - so cute!

I'm with Christy on this. Put everything on one card. Have fun at the event!

Wow, I think Christy said it all. I don't really know what else to add...excellent idea!

Actually, one other thought is to do a postcard size card and that way you'd have more room for all the info. Maybe that's too bulky, but as an actor, we use postcards to send out to people...I know other businesses promote with postcard size cards, too. Anyway, it's just a thought.

I like the idea of putting all your blogs on one card. Put this one on the front, and your other two on the back. I used moo.com

And I wouldn't worry about jinxing yourself either! :-)

I totally vote for a blog/all inclusive card! If you look at my blog you can see the cards I'm bringing to BlogHer - they are basically a personal card, but I mention my business site and twitter id, in addition to all my mom blog stuff! I have separate cards for my business when needed (and will have a few with me), but one card to cover everything is great, because it gives a better picture of you as a whole!

I'd do an all-inclusive card, too. If you aren't shy about it, make it a card for YOU -- put your contact info on the front, and list your websites on the back, or something.
