Hair, Long Beautiful Hair

Well at least longer than it is now.

That is right I am going to grow out my hair. As I called back in August when I cut it, I didn't even last a year before I wanted to grow it out again. Call it a short attention span, call it caprice, call it crazy, its just who I am.

But now I have to suffer through the akward stages of growing my hair. Gone are the days where I could just put a little product in my hair, mess it up and go. Its too long for that but it is also to short to tuck behind my ears. So now I have to do my hair. There is curling, teasing, spraying involved every morning just to get it to a presentable state. I just don't have the time for that. But without it, I'm a walking bad hair day.

So I've looked for alternatives, hair accessories. Clips and headbands are my new best friends. I've got your basic black headband and a few stretchy ones. I started out stealing Bunny's hair clips (the little ones with the sparkely flowers) since they don't stay in her hair, I might as well wear them. These get me through those rough days. Not exactly a fashion statement but they will do.

Then the wonderful Kate of The Big Piece of Cake, as she often does, came to my rescue. She introduced me to Andrea's Beau, a fabulous line of hair accessories. Now, with all the imaginary disposable income I have, I can buy these beauties:

Because how awesome would I look in them?

But alas I am short on funds so I am posting this in hopes that someone will take pity on me and buy one for me. Or that I will win Kate's giveaway.

I'm An Underdog

I don't know if you've noticed the pretty little button over on the sidebar. The one that says I've been nominated for a Blogger's Choice Award for Best Parenting Blog.

That's amazing, right? Little old me, who has been blogging less than a year was nominated for an award. An award I have no real chance of winning, but I was still nominated. And its an honor to be nominated (or so they say).

But I feel like I need to fess up, to tell you the truth: I nominated myself.

Why would I do such a thing? Well its because I love blogging and I love this blog. I feel like I write some pretty darn good stuff and why shouldn't I be considered with the blogs that have hundreds or thousands of readers. I hope that all of you reading this feel the same way.

I might never have gone ahead and nominated myself if it weren't for the awesome Kate of The Big Piece of Cake. Kate was nominated for an award by a friend of hers and then decided to nominate herself for another. And then she started encouraging other bloggers to do the same, to take control, to put yourself out there. She even started a new blog to showcase the little guys, the Underdogs, as it were.

UnderdogsUnite

So here is what I am asking you to do. If you like what I write, click on that shiny new button and vote for me (please, pretty please with sugar and sprinkles on top). And then check out the Underdog's blog where you can find some new, extremely talented bloggers to read. Just think, you'll be getting in on the ground floor. When Kate (or myself) becomes the new Dooce, you can say I've been reading her forever.

An Open Letter

Anymommy has been writing letters lately and she has inspired me to write one of my own.

Dear Makers of Anti-Icky Poo:

I have sung your praises to the heavens. Scads of people now know your product thanks to my little blog. I was wondering if I could get a little love in return.

You see my boy cat won't stop peeing in my house. In fact last night he peed right under my computer table while I was sitting there. Luckily my feet were not under the table nor will the ever be again.

So we are running low on your wonderous product. Please, oh please won't you see it in your hearts to give a girl a free sample or twelve. I promise to drop Anti-Icky Poo in my blog at least once a week. Given the rate that Sir Pees-A-Lot is going, it won't be a problem.

Thanks,
Renee
